Position Title: Managing Counsel Position Summary Each Managing Counsel is responsible for providing legal advice, counseling, and training to business partners on issues related to real estate, customer contracts, service and vendor contracts, regulatory, environmental, litigation, labor and employment, corporate matters, and/or other areas. As a senior member of the Legal team, a Managing Counsel is expected to initiate and lead special projects and to provide management support initiatives and training. Essential Job FunctionsCommunicates, interprets and translates complex legal issues to people inside and outside of the legal departmentManage own workload and work level of others in order to ensure productivity and effort; Anticipate needs and assist in shifting workloads of othersMentor and coach more junior colleaguesEffective presentation skill and comfort level public speaking abilityDynamically assess risks and weighs risk against business goal and needsResponsible for fiber licensing assistance with procedures, forms and negotiations of fiber solutions licensesRespond to legal inquiries, assisting Crown personnel with regard to legal issues as neededServe as the legal liaison to an Area, Region, or Corporate function departmentDesign and present training on legal issues to other legal department members and the companyLead special projects and initiatives; involving initiation and execution of various projects related to training on legal concepts and contract preparation, policies, procedures and standard forms.Draft and review service contracts; involving support for negotiation and preparation of service contracts pursuant to which Crown provides services to customers.Draft and review vendor contracts; involving preparation of and revisions to standard forms for use with vendors providing services to Crown.Draft and review Building Access agreementsAssist in resolution of customer disputes of terms of fiber solutions agreementsDraft and review contracts and provide counsel to Crown personnel regarding various contractSupport collections, including assistance in structuring and improving procedures and practices for collection of receivablesManage litigation and other disputes, including claim notification, tracking, managing outside counsel and internal business owners, analysis of claims and status reporting to optimize representation of Crown's interests.
