Our client, a well-known real estate company in Baltimore, MD is seeking an experienced Sr. Property Accountant to join their growing property accounting team. The company is a Baltimore based, privately held, real estate investment firm that makes select investments in retail, industrial, and office assets. This position reports to the Controller - Property Management and is responsible for the full range of accounting processes and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial and development real estate assets. This individual will partner directly with the commercial property and asset managers. This organization offers their employees a hybrid in office/remote working schedule, with flexibility, as well.Offering:Hybrid work situationBeautiful, brand new office space convenient to all major highways and they provide free parking!Full health/dental/vision insuranceGenerous vacation/PTO401kOpen door policy company and successful training tools for their employees Job Responsibilities: Prepare and enter journal entries for fixed assets, accruals, deferred rent, prepayments, and other balance sheet accounts.Assist in all aspects of month end close and close analysis.Prepare P&L and Balance Sheet for senior management.Review rent rolls, accounts receivable reports and other related reports. Ensure financial reports tie to general ledger.Preparation of year-end schedules for auditors.Prepare bank account reconciliationsMonitor income and expenses to ensure compatibility with budgeted amounts.Integrate acquisitions into accounting and reporting frameworks.Calculate and reconcile monthly CAM charges, percent rent and management fees.Prepare annual escalations and expense recovery adjustment billings.Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and provide report to executive managementPrepare annual Budgets and ForecastsCollaborate with the property & asset management team in preparation of the property operating budget, and reforecastsManage Construction & Capital Projects/Major Repairs accounting and reportingSpecial and ad hoc projects as assigned by managerQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, FinanceAt least 4 years accounting experience in public accounting or commercial property management and construction accounting experience preferredWorking knowledge of MRI real estate software a plusMicrosoft Office software suite proficiency required, including advanced Excel use and user knowledgeEffective oral and written communication skills; excellent accuracy/proofreading and attention to detail in all work productProficiency and consistency with prioritizing workload, multi-tasking, working independently with minimal supervision and meeting work deadlinesBase salary: $80,000-$95,000
