Under the general direction of the President of the US & LAR Flavor Solutions and the North American CFO, direct and lead (whether formally or informally) all members of the Finance function. Responsibilities include overseeing the financial performance of the business unit, management of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, acquisition due diligence & integration, commercial finance activities, preparation of financial statements under US GAAP and maintaining a functional internal control system/SOX. Provide direction, advice and leadership to the US & LAR Flavor Solutions executive leadership team as a key business partner.Key ResponsibilitiesWorks with key executives in the overall planning, goal setting, organizing, leading and controlling of Division operations, not only division specific but also in the broad context of North America. This also includes: developing strategic plan, responding to customer and market pressures and dynamics, providing acquisition due diligence and integration, as well as, increasing the financial acumen of cross functional partners.Works with key executives in the overall planning, goal setting, organizing, leading and controlling of the Finance function. This includes participation on Americas Finance Leadership Team and the CFO Council to provide leadership to the regional and global finance function.Responsible for the divisional financial results through financial reporting and providing visibility to the drivers of the results, insights for decision making, and formulating a plan to achieve results in line with commitments and guidance. This applies to Budgeting, Forecasting, Risk Assessment, Strategic Planning, Acquisition review and ad hoc analysis.Influencing commercial, supply chain operations, and procurement activities that includes: accountability for advertising and promotional spend, pricing initiatives, trade spend, sales & marketing financial analysis, plant spending, inventory write-offs and risk reviews, commodity inflation, and SG&A.Maintain an effective control environment and SOX compliance, including designing new and modifying existing controls to ensure the integrity of the financial statements and control environmentResponsible for the leadership and support to develop team for growth, advancement, recognition, and engagement for succession planning and for organizational designRequired Qualifications/ExperienceBS in Finance or Accounting, MBA preferred12+ years total Financial experience, with experience in some of the following functional areas preferred: public accounting, external or internal auditing, mergers and acquisitions, commercial and operations finance and financial planning & analysis.CPA requiredProven leadership skills, including successfully attracting and developing talent and team-building Cross functional team management experience.A' In-depth understanding of external business environment, including customer and industry trends.A' In-depth knowledge of internal business environment, including activities in other divisional support functions (Sales/Marketing/Technical) and Corporate functions (Supply Chain/Shared Services/Corporate).Knowledgeable of Integrated Business Planning cycles.Strong communication skills - Must be able to synthesize and communicate well to all levels within the company, from CEO to financial analyst as well as customers.Negotiation/influencing - Must be able to work within the matrix environment, using informal leadership skills.A' Mentoring - Must be able to positively influence the personnel development of the Finance team, to help ensure successful succession planning and improved employee motivation and satisfaction.A' Experience working with both external and internal auditors.Handling Complexity - Must be able to synthesize large amounts of information (both financial and non-financial), in order to translate to the Finance team or divisional leadership.Adaptability - Must be flexible to meet customer (ie leadership) needs as well as work cross functionally in a matrix environment.A'
