SUMMARY Perform a variety of accurate and time-sensitive inspection and engineering field testing procedures for construction projects Perform on-site field inspections, observations, and sampling of soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt and verifying the placement of reinforcing steel Duties may also include casting concrete test cylinders for future lab tests Collection of data and calculations of testing results and other administrative duties may be required Communicate daily with site contractors, project manager/supervisor and other technicians Document daily work activities; prepare reports, and record time daily as per the company policy Operate organizational equipment in a safe, effective, and efficient manner QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED equivalent 1+ year of related field experience that includes materials testing and sampling Valid driver's license and verification of auto insurance coverage; motor vehicle record must meet company standards Strong customer service skills including working with the public in a courteous, respectful manner Ability to follow directions, read maps, and interpret construction and engineering plans Ability to work flexible hours including, but not limited to, early hours, overtime, and weekends in accordance with the contractor's schedule Ability to perform basic mathematical procedures and use measurement tools. Ability to lift and/or move up to 60-80 pounds (soil and concrete samples, nuclear gauges, etc.)
