Position Overview:
Are you looking for an opportunity to apply learn about operational risk management within the mortgage servicing industry? Within the Multifamily Governance & Business Services Team you will:
  • Advise and be a true partner to the business;
  • Bring innovation and standardization to risk management and business techniques;
  • Have the ability to influence risk management across Freddie Mac by providing perspectives and effective challenge; and
  • Advance a culture of ongoing learning and continuous improvement.

**This position can be performed currently from a remote location in the U.S. but will require presence in a Freddie Mac office in the future.***

Our Impact:

Governance and Business Services (GBS) is part of 1st Line of Defense (LOD) within the Multifamily Division at Freddie Mac. GBS is responsible for identifying and measuring operational risks, analyzing and reporting on risks, and collaborating with the Three Lines of Defense and management across the company. The team strives to:
  • Drive strong operational risk management knowledge and practices across Multifamily and Freddie Mac that enable the business to make informed, risk-based decisions.
  • Strengthen decision-making and promote efficient business operations through select services, including management reporting, SharePoint development, training and other business support initiatives.

Your Impact:

You will perform these Operational Risk Management activities to help bring the GBS team forward:
  • Support risk and control self-assessments (RCSAs) of business processes.
  • Management self-testing of manual and automated controls.
  • Monitor and report on risks and issues.
  • Support modern delivery efforts from a risk and controls perspective
  • Perform analysis over emerging risks and issues

You will also collaborate within the Multifamily Division and with other parts of the company:
  • Work individually and with the business to identify, develop and implement operational efficiency and controls.
  • Engage with Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Audit.
  • Present to management analysis over risks, controls and projects.
  • Ability to develop relationships across the business and company.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence situations and people.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, related field or equivalent work experience
  • 0-2 years related experience
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint skills
  • Familiar with the concepts of risk assessments preferred
  • Ability to create and maintain process flows in Visio preferred
