Position Overview:

The Multifamily Division is seeking an Underwriting Operations Senior in the Underwriting and Credit department. The Multifamily Underwriting department is responsible for the credit quality of Multifamily loans purchased by Freddie Mac. Apply now and learn why there's #MoreAtFreddieMac!

**This position can be performed currently from a remote location in the U.S. but will require presence in a Freddie Mac office in the future.***

Our Impact:

This position supports the effective operations of the Underwriting and Credit department and works closely with multiple areas within Multifamily LOB such as, Finance, Production, Capital Markets and Operations.

Your Impact:

Underwriting Oversight & Reporting
  • Review and report on monthly Bridger Know Your Customer searches and watchlist hit closure documentation to determine compliance with policy and to identify gaps and trends; provide analysis and feedback to business areas
  • Review and report on monthly credit policy exceptions to identify gaps and trends; provide analysis and feedback to business areas
  • Contribute to quarterly Multifamily Risk Update and monthly risk profile materials submitted to multiple Risk Committees throughout the organization
  • Support preparation, coordination and consolidation of monthly and quarterly Underwriting attestations of data quality for the Department
  • Maintain underwriting critical data identification process and inventory
  • Drive annual department procedure maintenance


Risk Support
  • Respond to and assist in audits and exams, the closure of Internal Audit findings, FHFA Matters Requiring Attention (MRA), and coordinate ERM loan review responses
  • Prepare analysis and respond to Operational Loss events and Controls Testing. Work with the Underwriting Management team to develop new controls and assist in periodic assessments of SOX control effectiveness
  • Support digital transformation adoption by reviewing process, risk and control documentation


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate or Finance
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of Risk Management and/or Operations
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
