Organizational Development Specialist & Program Manager

The George Mason University, Human Resources & Payroll Department is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person for an Organizational Development Specialist & Program Manager. About the Position:

Be part of, and work to grow, a cross-Mason network of engaged and high-performing leaders who operate with courage and civility. Collaboratively design, develop, deliver, and evaluate learning and development opportunities for Mason's faculty and staff that support the unit's and university's mission.

Program Manager: Manage the programs offered by the team and ensure programs align with unit's and university's mission. Prepare leaders, both formal and informal, to lead with increased-self awareness, hold difficult conversations, and build/work in high-performing teams.

OD Specialist: Support units' organizational goals and mission by providing organizational development consulting and designing and facilitating timely and appropriate OD interventions, including strategic planning, team- and relationship-building, improving communication and capacity to hold difficult conversations, and other solutions as required.

Responsibilities:

* Consult the organizational development process, including intake, needs analysis, designing and delivering OD services, and follow-up support for leaders and units;
* Manage ODL programs, including: providing vision and goals for each program, program marketing, scheduling, curriculum development, planning, evaluation, and communication with participants, facilitators, and applicants (including the application process, attendance, participation, and connecting with coaching and other resources as required);
* Manage leadership programs including Supervisor Boot Camp and Emerging Leaders Supervisor Series;
* In collaboration with other Mason stakeholders, manage Leadership Legacy Program;
* Manage Mason's workplace coaching program, including intake, coach matching and recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and engagement of Mason's coaches;
* Serve as workplace coach to assigned coaches;
* Support and partner with the Employee Relations team where appropriate to support individual and team solutions for workplace issues;
* Guide individuals and teams on how to effectively address and resolve workplace concerns;

* Other duties as assigned by the Director of Organizational Development & Learning.

Required Qualifications:

* Master's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
* Experience in human resources;
* Must possess an understanding of the principles, theory, and practice of organizational development, training, and adult learning;
* Experience facilitating and/or delivering training.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience leading OD interventions with teams strongly preferred;
* Higher education experience;
* Training/learning program management experience;
* Knowledge of/Experience with coaching skills and competencies;
* Ability to make decisions and solve problems by analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems creatively and collaboratively with others as well as using independent judgment to select proper courses of action;
* Ability to observe, listen, and build relationships. Must be caring, competent, and optimistic and approach people and problems as individuals;
* Ability to handle complex projects of a variety of scope that often require innovation and research into new ideas and practices;
* Ability to build collaborative and mutually beneficial working relationships with people of different backgrounds;
* Seeks, considers, and communicates diverse perspectives and ideas;
* Can handle tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
