Job Summary:

Trowbridge is seeking a strong Oracle Database Administrator to join our outstanding team on our DoD Compartmented Enterprise Services Office contract in Arlington, VA (Rosslyn area near Metro). This role will handle capacity planning, evaluate database server hardware, and manage all aspects of an Oracle database including installation, configuration, design, and data migration. Additional responsibilities include performance monitoring, security, backups, troubleshooting, and data recovery.

  • Will build, configure, and manage Oracle server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems for various projects.
  • Capable of managing daily activities of the database (stored procedures, triggers, backups/restore, report generation, and data import/export for Oracle, Monto, and PosdtGres using native adapters to include ODBC and JDBC.
  • Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
  • Collaborate with our architects, engineering, and development teams to design, develop, test, and manage on-prem and cloud solutions.
  • Independently analyze, solve and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end for the various projects.
  • Design new database solutions and schemas that meet the organization's data storage needs.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Monitors databases and related systems to ensure optimized performance.
  • Be proactive in securing the systems from time to time to conform to DISA’s STIG requirements.
  • Ensure database quality by performing data scrubbing and database administration work to geographically replicate data to address latency issues, maintain data availability, integrity and security including changes required when DoD IT requirements change.
  • Secure, test, revise, and protect database by developing system access, specifying user level of access, and backing up database.
  • Troubleshoot and correct internal and external end-user technical issues encountered while interacting with the program's IT systems.
  • Support release deployment activities after hours based on project requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Possess active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory
  • Possesses 8570 IAT Level II (i.e., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE) certification; or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledgeable in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Oracle Server
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
