Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide oversight for the service desk and device management services, including leadership, personnel management, strategy development, security assessment, contingency management, property accountability, and operations direction that provides a disciplined, reliable approach to the management of Information Technology (IT) issues and telecommunication needs.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, develops and implements new IT solutions that may be more efficient, more effective, and/or less expensive.
  • Leads the service desk and device management teams by ensuring accountability of property and services provided, and application of appropriate security solutions are applied.
  • Manages the overall work of the service desk and device management teams to ensure risk and vulnerability of planned and installed information systems comply with applicable existing laws and directives.
  • Oversees service desk and technical support services by applying expert knowledge and skills to include customer support concepts and methods.
  • Benchmarks, analyzes, reports on, and makes recommendations for the improvement and growth of service desk and device management services.
  • Leads rapid response teams in response to customer service problems resulting from catastrophic events such as system outages, virus infections or widespread power outages.
  • Provide overall direction and oversight of personnel management, strategy development, and security assessment and operational risk mitigation.

  • You must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • This position requires candidate to be able to hold a security clearance at the TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance level.

  • Additional selections may be made from this recruitment, for up to 90 days, if openings occur in other offices serviced by JMD Human Resources.
  • Financial Disclosure: If selected, you may be required to disclose financial information in accordance with DOJ and Federal ethics guidelines.
  • This position requires the candidate to obtain a Federal Acquisition Certificate for Contracting Officers Representative (FAC-COR) and/or Federal Acquisition Certificate for Program Manager (FAC-PM) within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation period may be required.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). Applicants must pass a drug screen prior to employment and subject to random drug testing for the duration of employment.


Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Supervisory IT Program Manager (INFOSEC/CUSTSPT) at (GS-2210-15), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade.

Basic Requirements (OPM Individual Occupational Requirements):
1) Attention to Detail - is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2) Customer Service - works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3) Oral Communication - expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4) Problem Solving - identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendation.

Specialized Experience : For the GS 15, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS 14 in the Federal service. At a minimum, specialized experience must be in or related to solving complex customer service issues and proactively preventing negative service trends, and restoring services for application and business service outages.
