Summary

As a Technical Writer-Editor at the GS-1083-13, you will be part of OEDA, Information and Data Access Division, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If selected, you will be responsible for writing and editing data and analytics focused documents and managing the entire web product development lifecycle in collaboration with other EEOC departments.

Responsibilities

  • Writes or edits complex data and analytics focused documents including statistical reports, social scientific studies, and data visualizations, and other technical documents.
  • Provides writing and editorial assistance to management and/or other staff members preparing information for the OEDA Intranet and SharePoint pages to ensure EEOC employees receive clear information on data and analytics focused documents.
  • Serves as liaison with the EEOC Office of Communications and Legislative Affairs (OCLA) to keep abreast of changing policies, agency law and procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Manages the entire web product development lifecycle and defines the problem and the market opportunity that a new feature will address
  • Consults with team members charged with preparing reports, correspondence, or documents requiring clearance by the Office of Information Technology, Office of the Chair and /or OCLA, and other EEOC offices as necessary.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet one of the following Basic Requirements:

A.
Must have included a total of 15 semester hours in an appropriatescientific, technical, or social science field(s), and at least one course above the introductory level in the field(s) covered by the position. (Must provide your official or unofficial transcripts.)

OR

B. Experience that required substantial subject-matter or technical knowledge of the field. This experience must have demonstrated the ability to acquire and present technical information through independent reading, interviews with subject-matter specialists, observation of tests and experiments, interpretation of blueprints or diagrams, or other appropriate methods. Such experience may have been acquired as a writer or editor of technical reports, articles, manuals, or specifications.

In addition to meeting one of the above Basic Requirements, you must also possess the following:

For the GS-13: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, OR equivalent public or private sector experience which has given the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience for this position includes: Writing and/or editing complex data and analytics focused documents including statistical reports, social scientific studies, and data visualizations, and other technical documents; editing and/or rewriting data and analytics focused documents for style, clarity, professionalism (including quality control), and consistency; and managing web (including digital services) production, development and project management.
