Responsibilities

  • You will Perform, administer, or advise on work concerned with assuring the quality and operational status of products acquired and used by the Federal Government.
  • You will develop plans and procedures for performing in process and acceptance testing to achieve and maintain product quality throughout the item's life cycle.
  • You will monitor the depot operations to prevent the production of defects and to verify adherence to quality plans and technical requirements.
  • You will analyze and investigate adverse quality trends or conditions and initiate corrective actions.

Qualifications

0856: GS-11 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector 1) providing assistance with collecting and evaluating electronics equipment performance data; 2) interpreting and analyzing designs, diagrams, and schematics to evaluate feasibility; AND 3) evaluating faults in the operational configuration of electronic systems and equipment.

GS-12 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector 1) providing assistance with collecting and evaluating electronics equipment performance data; 2) interpreting and analyzing designs, diagrams, and schematics to evaluate feasibility; 3) evaluating faults in the operational configuration of electronic systems and equipment; AND 4) developing designs, diagrams, and schematics for technical feasibility.

The incumbent performs and/or witnesses' component disassembly, assembly, and system level testing of NSSMS equipment primarily at the NSSMS overhaul/repair depot but may include locations wherever NSSMS equipment/systems are installed. Incumbent provides electronics technician services in support of repair, testing, qualification, and In-Service Engineering (ISE) services of equipment and systems installed on US Navy, Regional Allies, and/or shore facilities. Assignments comprise; electrical, electro-mechanical and/or other aspects of the system and include the investigation, analysis, evaluation, and resolution of operational deficiencies caused by malfunctions or casualties within the system/equipment. Incumbents may be required to travel to fleet concentration areas to perform system and equipment Material Condition Assessments (MCA) to develop repair and overhaul plans or conduct on-sight repairs.

Several vacancies may be filled.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs

This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of
