The incumbent will serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for the agency's Cloud Services Branch. The candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing enterprise unified communications tools to meet the judiciary's needs. The candidate must have expertise in enterprise messaging, directory services, directory synchronization, mobile device management, web conferencing, video, voice and instant messaging. The candidate must have excellent consultative abilities along with hands-on experience in design, architecture, and implementation of enterprise-wide communication platforms.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Designing and implementing all aspects of collaboration connectivity enterprise-wide, including mobile device management, web conferencing, video, voice, instant messaging, configuration, installation, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Monitoring quality and feature use to drive architectural/technical service improvements.
  • Deploying collaboration technology in a decentralized court environment.
  • Maintaining business relationships with service providers and equipment vendors.
  • Working closely with key offices and technology groups within the agency to define and refine unified communication architecture.
  • Participating in architectural peer review activities with other groups like the Cloud Hosting and Networks Office (CHNO), the IT Security Office (ITSO), the Technology Solutions Office (TSO), Program Offices and others.
  • Conducting information-gathering meetings and gathering business requirements to capture business and functional objectives.
  • Designing integration with other systems and customizing solutions.

  • You will be required to serve a trial period if selected for a first-time appointment to the Federal government, transferring from another Federal agency, or serving as a first-time supervisor. Failure to successfully complete the trial period may result in termination of employment.
  • If appointed to a temporary position, management may have the discretion of converting the position to permanent depending upon funding and staffing allocation.

  • Qualifications

    Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.

    Specialized Experience : Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience must demonstrate ALL areas defined below:
  • Experience in Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Security, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Domain Name System (DNS), and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
  • Experience in Microsoft Exchange and Exchange Online.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Operational experience of managing a Microsoft Cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience in Cisco IronPort.
  • Experience in Mobile Application Management (MAM) & Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions such as design, configuration, optimization and maintenance.
  • Experience in traditional networks, Firewalls and load balancers.
