Summary

This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Warehouse Materials and Distribution Division. As an MATERIALS HANDLER (VAULT STOCKMAN), you will be, receiving, storing, safeguarding and preparing for issue, shipment and distribution, a wide variety of security papers and other production materials, repair and replacement parts, equipment, machinery, and general and specialized store stock items used in the production, maintenance, and administrative areas of the Bureau.

Responsibilities

As a MATERIALS HANDLER (VAULT STOCKMAN), you will:
- Maintain a filing system to ensure that all securities are safeguarded and properly accounted for, file all papers and correspondence relating to receipt and issue of security papers are properly controlled in addition, be responsible for storage and physical custody of dandy rolls located in the Bureau, and arranges for their shipment to contractors as needed.
- Assemble selected items and performs issue transactions through a computerized system, and move stock to an issue point, pickup area or directly to the user.
- Verify receiving documents by counting, preparing, and documenting quantities, conditions, purchase order number, and stock number.
- Properly package, inspect, and assemble, all materials in a convenient location in preparation for transportation to the customer.

Often required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, and to bend, stoop, and work in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Required to lift and carry items that weigh up to 40 pounds (18.14 kilograms), heavier items are moved with weigh handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.

    • The facility typically shuts down annually between Christmas and New Year's Day. As such, all BEP employees must take leave for work days during the shutdown period.

    • Shift Work: This facility operates on a 24 hour per day, three-shift basis. Assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed. The successful applicant must be available to work on all three shifts on a rotational basis.
    • Weekend work and overtime, if applicable, will be scheduled when needed based on production requirements as determined by Management.
