Under the leadership of the VP, Ambulatory Services, the Director is responsible for implementation of strategic planning, business development, internal promotion and physician recruitment within CNPA. Responsible for providing senior leadership oversight and direction of operations, including but not limited to staffing, physician compensation and contracting, medical practice acquisition and integration, development and management of the medical groups infrastructure and reporting systems, collaboration with CNPA Board of Directors, and ensuring the financial stability of the Medical group in accordance with CNH's mission, vision, goals, and objectives. He/she is also responsible for implementation of all policies and ensuring that the CNPA Board is informed on all matters that impact CNPA practices. Collaborates closely with the CNPA Medical Director to provide an atmosphere conducive to service excellence, continuous improvement, team development and professional growth.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree In related field required. (Required)
Master's Degree Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Public Administration or other related field preferred. (Preferred)

Minimum Work Experience
10 years Progressive related experience. Minimum of 7 years supervisory/management experience in related job function. (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge
expertise in utilization of Excel, Tableau, and all currently utilized systems for data analysis and visual presentation to teams

Functional Accountabilities
Organizational Performance

  • Plan, develop and provide operational oversight and management of the quality practice, policies and processes to promote quality patient care to ensure consistent best practice standards guide the provision of care for all CNPA offices.


  • Directs all activities and plans related to physician practice management to ensure that goals related to increasing efficiency and revenue, decreasing practice expenses, improving integration and quality, and improving alignment of physician incentives are consistently achieved.
  • Collaborates closely and effectively with key corporate stakeholders such as Legal, HR, IT, PR & Marketing and others to ensure that CNPA operations and functions align with CNH goals, and to avoid duplication of such services and systems.
  • Energizes stakeholders and sustains their commitment to change in approach, process and strategy.
  • Monitors department/division process and seek opportunities to improve operations.
  • Develops a communication strategy and tools to ensure effective communication amongst all group practices.

Human Capital

  • Assesses and monitors organizational staffing requirements and aligns operations to effectively and efficiently meet organizational needs.


  • Collaborates with Legal and HR to develop, manage and monitor a comprehensive, competitive physician and staff compensation plan that is based on Fair Market Value and other established market values and pay practices.
  • Oversees an effective and collaborative physician recruitment and on-boarding program.
  • Collaborates with Practice Managers and Administrators to ensure appropriate and timely recruitment, retention, training, and assessment of talent for both medical and non-medical CNPA employees.
  • Defines, sets, and utilizes appropriate performance and quality benchmarks for practice managers and individual staff members.
  • Establishes, builds and sustains professional contacts for the purpose of building networks.
  • Demonstrates ethics and professional practices, as well as stimulate social accountability and community stewardship.

Information Technology

  • Ensures continuous use and assessment of administrative and clinical information technology and decision-support tools in support of process reengineering and performance improvement initiatives.


  • Ensures effectiveness of existing information management and system capabilities.
  • Ensures consistent utilization of data modeling and reporting tools for performance analysis and to support senior leadership decision-making.

Budget

  • Oversees and participates in the planning and formulation process for establishing annual operating and capital budgets.


  • Assess group/individual practice performance reports and evaluates budget variances to create quality process and improvement initiatives.
  • Analyzes financial and performance data on an on-going basis and prepares regular progress reports for presentation to the Board regarding CNPA progress relative to budget and business plan.
  • Incorporates budget considerations in all planning and decision making.
  • Participates in negotiation of professional and facility use agreements with outside organizations and manages receivables effectively.
  • Represents CNPA in all managed care and value based contract negotiations.


Organizational Accountabilities
Deliver

  • Continuously evaluates workflow, analyzes data and acts on significant trends affecting operational effectiveness and efficiency. Defines and implements processes and policies to promote standardization of industry best practices throughout CNPA operations.


  • Sets and clearly communicates Medical Group goals and priorities in alignment with the practices' goals and budgets.
  • Provides the resources and guidance required for employees to perform effectively.
  • Develops procedures to ensure high safety and quality, and course-correct as needed.
  • Identifies customers' needs and ensures service excellence in meeting those needs.

Engage

  • With CNPA Business and Clinical Operations leadership, works in partnership with the CNPA Medical Director, Physician Leads, and Practice Managers to solicit feedback and input on decisions impacting clinical operations.


  • Serves as the link between the individual practices and the Medical Group in defining the strategies to meet CNH's strategic goals.
  • Selects, orients, coaches and develops direct reports through effective delegation, mentoring and succession planning, open and ongoing communications and workgroup participation.
  • Writes performance reviews and conducts effective performance evaluations sessions with staff.
  • Manages the working environment to promote engagement and high levels of productivity.
  • Represents the team in clearing obstacles to high performance.
  • Directs workload assignments to manager and holds them accountable for the performance of their practices.
  • Ensures effective employee relations through appropriate communication and timely problem resolution.
  • Explores opportunities to engage parents, patients, and families of patients to serve in an advisory capacity.
  • Works to promote communication and collaboration between CNPA clinicians and CNH specialists, in-patient units, and ED.

Grow

  • Identifies and develops key business opportunities for CNPA growth and innovation including new offices, new physicians, new services and practice acquisitions.


  • In collaboration with PR & Marketing department, develops and implements marketing strategy to promote physicians, practices and services. Ensures appropriate representation at community education and screening events.
  • Maximizes physician and provider referrals within the medical group and CNH.
  • Provides leadership to ensure the satisfaction of patients, physicians, employees and all other stakeholder.
