Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group has Partnered with an Archdiocese and is seeking an Executive Director of IT/CIO to provide leadership and strategy within the Office of Information Technology. In this role, s/he will have responsibility for recommending all technology-driven improvements, technology management, network security, and created related policies all in alignment with their organization goals. Responsibilities:

  • Direct, plan, supervise, review, and evaluate the activities of the information technology staff (total number of staff is 6); establish priorities while developing standards and setting deadlines
  • Plan the department's long-term and short-term strategy for all aspects of technology and make recommendations for technology within the Archdiocesan parishes and schools
  • Anticipate, plan, and stay current on technologies; make recommendations to leadership regarding relevant technology and security improvements; support training efforts related to implementations of new systems
  • Consult senior-level stakeholders across entire organization to identify business/technology needs
  • Supervise operational staff managing the help desk, network security, telecommunications functions, and print shop
  • Supervise daily operations of hardware, networks, operating systems and applications for administrative information technology applications and off-site datacenter
  • Plan/Manage the information technology budget and oversee/monitor contracts for equipment and services
  • Manage technology vendors and outside consultant relationships

Qualifications/Background Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related discipline; Master's degree preferred
  • 10-15 years of experience in the Information Technology field with increasing responsibilities
  • Experience managing a team of 10 or more employees
  • Recent experience in legacy data migrations, network operations, help desk operations, and communication systems
  • Experience with a variety of systems, including Microsoft 365
  • Proven knowledge and experience in technology best practices
  • Experience in the oversight of application development, operating systems, specialized applications
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
