Arlington County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) is seeking a Management Analyst to work in our Corrections division. This position provides professional, technical, and administrative assistance to the ACSO in its management of accreditation, projects, and services. The Management Analyst is responsible for ensuring mandatory compliance with multiagency organizations such as: federal, state, and professional audits, including compiling and analyzing statistical data for facility operations and coordinating, preparing and organizing records and reports for submission to internal and external agencies. This position also directly assists the Sheriff, Chief Deputy Sheriff, and Director of Corrections with critical senior level projects that require confidentiality along with normally tight deadlines.

Specific Duties and Tasks:

  • Ensures compliance with the American Correctional Association (ACA) audit, Virginia Department of Corrections mandatory inspection (VADOC), US Marshals mandatory inspection, and Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and mandatory audits by collecting and preparing documentation;
  • Monitors inmate grievance process and enters all grievances into database;
  • Analyzes incident trends, statistics throughout the Detention Facility and reports finding to Senior Command staff;
  • Prepares the Arlington County Sheriff's Office Annual Report, Inmate Handbook (English and Spanish) and State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) Grant;
  • Helps develop and implement policies and procedures as it relates to accreditation standards and American Disabilities Association rules and regulations
  • Coordinates all tours throughout the Detention Facility.

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field; and
  • Two years experience in accreditation, quality control, program management, or other related experience.

  • Knowledge and experience with accreditation process and standards;
  • Knowledge and experience with Federal, State, and local laws as it pertains to law enforcement and correctional facilities;
  • Experience with analyzing statistics and identifying trends; and
  • Experience with Spreadsheets, Data Management Software, or Record Management Systems.

It may include checks of the following: criminal record, driving record, education, professional licensure, and credit check and may require signing a release authorizing the County to obtain this information.
