We are seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer with expert experience in Windows, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM), Enterprise Patching, PKI/Certificates, Active Directory, Virtualization, Cloud, and scripting experience to support our federal government customer. The Sr. Systems Engineer will work within the Server Engineering team supporting the Infrastructure and Operations Hosting Environment within the Department of Transportation.

  • Enterprise Patching with SCCM/MECM and WSUS
  • Application Deployment with SCCM/MECM
  • Reporting with SCCM/MECM
  • Scripting Experience: PowerShell, VBScript, and Batch
  • Operation System Deployment with SCCM/MECM
  • Windows Server Operating Systems (2012 to 2019)
  • Windows 10 Desktop Operating Systems
  • SCCM/MECM Architecture Design and Maintenance
  • Windows IIS web server administration
  • SQL Server Administration
  • SQL Query Language
  • PKI Architecture and Management
  • Windows Certificates Services Management
  • VMware vSphere and Hyper-V Virtualization
  • Incident management and troubleshooting skills
  • Active Directory engineering and management
  • Group Policy Management
  • Azure and AWS administration and Implementation
  • Dell PowerEdge Rackmount and Blade servers
  • Windows file shares and security administration
  • Other duties as assigned

  • BS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience and OR
  • High school diploma and 10+ years of experience
  • 4+ years of experience managing enterprise level SCCM/MECM environment
  • Background check required with the ability to get a public trust clearance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and/or 2019 Administration (MCSE, MCITP certification) is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Experience working in a home office setting
  • Ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone with good phone skills and a professional demeanor
  • Previous customer service experience is strongly desired
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it
