Sr. Manager, Business Development & Partnerships - Small Business Card (Remote)

The Role

The Business Development role is largely about building external relationships to expand the reach of Small Business Card. In this role, you will be a voice for SBC in strategic vertical markets where we seek to have more influence. The Sr. Manager, Business Development & Partnerships will monitor the pulse of market competition and new product innovations to determine new partnership opportunities for SBC.

This role carries the ability to travel up to 50%.

The Expectation
  • Assisting in the development and execution of the Small Business Card business development strategy
  • Identify and establish initial contact with potential partners and develop initial pitches
  • Support the proposal process for partners, including points of negotiation, pricing development, and industry benchmarking
  • Serve as primary point of contact for established partners, managing day-to-day account activities, including partner interface, troubleshooting, and determining cross-sell opportunities
  • Monitoring and reporting on the status of the Business Development team activity, including lead and pipeline management, partner onboarding, sales forecasts, and ongoing partnership management metrics
  • Performing marketplace and industry analyses with the goal of identifying product opportunities, and uncovering potential market and partner plays
  • Partnering with broader SBC Leadership Team to create customized partnership packages/services in line with partner goals and objectives and monitoring internal fulfillment to assure compliance with partnership obligations


Competencies
  • Strong analytical, project management, presentation, marketing and creative skills
  • Experienced in strategic marketing planning and product development
  • Proven ability to work independently and demonstrate intellectual rigor
  • Organizational skills and effective time management to succeed in a competitive and dynamic environment

Basic Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 3 years of full life cycle business development experience


Preferred Qualifications :
  • Master's Degree
  • 2 years of experience in strategic consulting
  • 2 years experience selling to large scale accounts
  • 2 years of experience within a Card program
