Building Mechanic

The University of Maryland has an immediate opening at our IBBR Facilities in Shady  Grove for a building mechanic. This position will assist skilled trades staff at our IBBR  facilities with routine maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, heating  and air conditioning systems. 

Must have at least 4 years of experience in general building maintenance and  construction. A valid Maryland Class C driver’s license or equivalent with fewer than 6  points is required. Position is Essential and subject to 24/7/365 operation, including  mandatory overtime for weather related or emergency situations. Will participate in On  Call/Reflex rotation. Standard work hours are Mon-Fri 6:00am -2:30pm. Salary range  starts at $36,111.00 with starting salary being commensurate with experience. Starting leave benefits include: 10 days annual leave, 3 personal days, 15 sick  days and 14 paid holidays per year (15 in a year of a general or Congressional election,  includes end of year break).
