Director, Data Engineering

We are seeking Data Engineers who will be a part of a team that's building new analytical and machine learning tools and frameworks to exploit advantages in the latest developments in cloud computing. What You'll Do:
  • Technical Leadership: the ability to inspire your team to think outside the box as they deliver high quality data engineering and analytical solutions
  • Recruit, motivate, mentor, and lead the best engineering and analytical talent
  • Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in data tools and technologies
  • Partner with teams of developers with deep experience in machine learning and full stack systems
  • Familiarity of programming languages like Java, Scala, Python and Open Source RDBMS, NoSQL databases and Cloud based data warehousing services such as Snowflake
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
  • Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
  • Conduct and advise reviews with other team members to make sure your code is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for performance


Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree

- At least 7 years of people management experience in data management, data warehousing or unstructured data environments

- At least 7 years experience in data warehouse technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's Degree

- 10+ years of experience providing technical leadership on relevant applications

- 7+ years experience dealing with complex data analytics and reporting

- 5+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices

- 5+ years experience developing enterprise data solutions to solve complex business problems

- 5+ years experience with end-to-end design and build process of Near-Real Time and Batch Data Pipelines; expertise with SQL and data modeling

- AWS certification
