The Network Administrator I role is to install, administer, and maintain company networks and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications. This includes ensuring the availability of networking infrastructure, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the network environment. Where applicable, the Network Administrator I will assist in overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of the network.


Strategy & Planning
  • Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for networking systems.
  • Collaborate with network engineering, business application, and database administration function to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate networks to meet business demands.
  • Participate in the design Virtual Private Network infrastructure to support vendor interconnection requirements in a secure manner.

Acquisition & Deployment
  • Assist in procurement of network hardware, and software in support of implementation and development efforts.
  • Support the deployment of workstations, network devices, servers, printers, scanners, firewalls, encryption systems, and all host security systems.

Operational Management
  • Administer all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs.
  • Administer and maintain telephone equipment, protocols and routing queues necessary to meet business needs.
  • Perform network, server and security audits, review logs for errors and trends, and ensure proper function of network infrastructure.
  • Ensure network connectivity of all workstations.
  • Check help desk database for entries on networking resource issues; prioritize and respond to help desk tickets as appropriate.


  • Associates degree in the field of computer science
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years\u2019 experience as a network administrator supporting LAN/WAN infrastructure
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Route Switch/Enterprise, or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of concepts in curriculums of CCNA enterprise or CCNA collaboration and be able to apply to assigned job tasks; attempt exam of CCNA enterprise or CCNA collaboration within six months in this role.

  • Four year college diploma or university degree in the field of computer science preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 5 \u2013 7 years\u2019 experience as a network administrator supporting LAN/WAN infrastructure preferred
  • VMware Certified Advanced Professional \u2013 Network Virtualization (VCIX-NV) preferred
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Collaboration/Voice and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security
