Senior Product Marketing Manager

We are looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager for a major new business launch at Capital One. Flex Pay will be an exciting new choice at checkout -- and credit card alternative-- where customers can split their cart purchase into equal biweekly or monthly payments. Launching in 2021, we are now expanding this business broadly, and it is ripe for innovation and scaling. The Senior Product Marketing Manager will own GTM planning across all work streams including direct to consumer and retailer / merchant engagement and acquisition.

The person in this role will develop a multi-year, strategic marketing plan and roadmap to drive awareness and acquisitions for the new product to be sold by large partner brands and by Capital One directly to consumers. They will work with business leadership, designers, Brand creative, research and eventually external brands and retailers, to develop, manage and optimize marketing programs and campaigns to drive traffic, partner engagement and sales.

Keys to success are an ability to identify, prioritize and own strategic opportunities, execute against an ongoing set of workstreams, analyze the impacts of the entire marketing program, and continually optimize results.

Our ideal candidate will have a very strong record of launching great products, thrive in ambiguous situations and has experience creating marketing programs and winning consumer experiences from scratch.

The ideal candidate is experienced in onsite merchandising, SEM, Social advertising, email marketing and delivering results through continual experimentation. They demonstrate the ability to be creative, to initiate and launch effective marketing programs, work across diverse functions, thrive in a fast-paced environment, support aggressive timelines, and pivot seamlessly across tactical and strategic requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, launch, measure and optimize marketing campaigns that drive product discovery and awareness, and acquisition, engagement and customer loyalty.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of product marketing initiatives from defining the strategy all the way through measurement.
  • Lead a cross functional marketing, CX and creative pod to execute efficiently a go to market strategy and "day two" optimizations.
  • Synthesize and analyze inputs from multiple sources to formulate the product marketing strategy, measuring and evaluating how your initiatives generate product discovery, detail-page glance views, and sales.
  • Develop and execute marketing experimentation roadmap, using both paid, free and onsite channels, rapidly iterating to optimize traffic and return on investment.
  • Effectively communicate the marketing performance, opportunities, objectives, strategy, and milestones to senior leaders and key stakeholders.


A great candidate for this role has the following capabilities
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment
  • Proven track of record of building and optimizing multi-channel, integrated marketing campaigns
  • Capable of structuring analytical requests
  • Confident combining analytics and qualitative data to form an approach, then breaking this strategy down into a testing plan that will accelerate momentum
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across business, partner, and technical teams to deliver results
  • Analytical experience including interpreting raw data and converting into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Well versed in innovative martech capabilities and comfortable connecting these to marketing possibilities across targeting, creative and experience
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
  • Confident interpreting analysis
  • Able to create and operate in a systems level view of marketing


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Military experience
  • At least 7 years of experience in B2B or consumer digital performance marketing including acquisition, content marketing, marketing communications and new product marketing
  • At least 5 years of experience developing strategic multi-channel, integrated marketing campaigns
  • At least 2 years of experience developing go-to-market strategies and launching new programs
  • At least 2 years of experience managing people
  • At least 2 years of experience building program learning agendas and associated testing plans


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree Business, Marketing or a similar field
  • Basic SQL knowledge
