Senior Associate, Brand Strategy and Digital Marketing

Capital One, one of Fortune Magazine's "100 best companies to work for" is seeking an innovative and data-driven Senior Associate to fill a high-profile position within the Card Marketing organization to drive marketing campaigns, creative strategy and learning agendas across multiple channels for prospects and customers. The role will be part of the Consumer Card marketing strategy team and will flex muscles of traditional brand strategy, new and innovative marketing technologies, and direct response marketing. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and executing B2C marketing campaigns. To be successful, the candidate will need to work across multiple marketing channels and build powerful relationships and storytelling abilities across the organization. The ideal candidate will also have a passion to utilize marketing technology.

Responsibilities
  • Define market research and customer intelligence projects with internal teams and external vendors to harvest insights and inform campaigns.
  • Analyze business results, marketplace trends and consumer insights to inform/advance positioning, product strategy, claims, branding and marketing strategy.
  • Develop and execute integrated, multi-channel (both owned and paid channels), marketing campaigns on a national scale to drive account growth and brand affinity.
  • Brief marketing/creative teams, manage the various projects required, communicate with stakeholders, and infuse marketing best practices and new marketing technology and testing into the work to constantly improve and create best marketing practices for the organization.
  • Participate as the brand lead in collaborative cross-functional teams (business partners, creative teams, legal, compliance, etc.)
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Champion the brand, ensuring that all representations of our products are in line with their respective brand personas, voice and style guides


The Ideal Candidate
  • Has experience leading marketing and brand strategy efforts in large organizations, along with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Detailed-oriented with strong project management and prioritization skills
  • Highly effective communication skills with outstanding writing and presentation abilities.
  • Experience with a variety of marketing channels (eg: email, mobile app, digital channels, website, and/or tech platform marketing)
  • Is confident with interpreting analysis
  • Is able to structure analytical requests
  • Is able to combine analytics and qualitative data to form a marketing strategy and approach
  • Is able to break a strategy down into a testing plan that accelerates momentum and speed to market
  • Is a self-starter, can lead projects independently and has desire to build new skills
  • Can manage the details of multiple projects, deadlines and changing priorities, while maintaining excellent and accurate work
  • Thrives on collaboration, the opportunity to build in white space and the drive for results


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Military experience
  • At least 2 years in brand strategy, product or digital marketing with experience in managing multiple channels on agency or client-side
  • At least 2 years of experience in planning, executing and analyzing marketing programs
  • At least 2 years of experience managing creative processes, partnering with creative teams and developing creative optimization frameworks

Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Marketing, Business or Communications
  • At least 2 years of experience in marketing for financial services or another highly regulated industry
  • At least 2 years of experience driving optimization plans and creative strategy
  • At least 2 years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment with a track record of effectively working autonomously and navigating ambiguity
  • At least 1 year of experience working with marketing tech platforms, including data management platforms
