Job Announcement

Under the supervision of the mobile crew Maintenance Crew Chief, the Seasonal Maintenance Worker completes light maintenance, construction, and other manual labor tasks in various Fairfax County Parks. Duties Include:

  • Assist senior maintenance workers in completing light construction projects.
  • Use hand tools to complete various projects.
  • Assist senior maintenance worker in completing asphalt work on trails, parking lots, etc.
  • Complete other manual labor tasks as assigned.

Position Title: Seasonal Maintenance Worker
Location: 4901 Brookfield Corporate Drive, Chantilly, VA. 20151
Hours: Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Salary: Starting at $11.43 per hour, may increase depending on experience and certifications.

Note: This position may not exceed 900 hours per calendar year. Individuals in these positions are not eligible for benefits and are not eligible to earn leave or receive holiday pay.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to completion of the tenth grade.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver’s license.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a check of the Child Protective Services Registry, and a driver's license check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and work outdoors in variable weather conditions performing physical labor.
  • Ability to traverse uneven ground.
  • Ability to bend, twist, turn, stand, sit, and stoop.
  • Ability to operate motor vehicle.
