Adventist Health Care seeks to hire an experienced Pharmacy Tech for our Pharmacy Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma
• Current Certified Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern from Maryland Board of Pharmacy in good standing
• Computer Skills
• Pharmacy experience in a hospital setting preferred
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:
• Performs drug distribution, medication preparation, compounding, dose calculation, and quality assurance/improvement tasks in accordance with established departmental procedures
• Delivers medications to appropriate locations manually, via pneumatic tube, or by refilling automated dispensing cabinets
• Monitors medication storage environments outside the pharmacy for appropriate conditions and regulatory compliance. Assists with unit inspections when designated
• Accurately refills emergency drug supply systems and specialty trays
• Complies with USP 795 for non-sterile compounding
• Demonstrates ability to perform required mathematical calculations and conversions
• Complies with Federal, State and Department policies for controlled substance distribution and management

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision
• Acts as a resource and source of support for co-workers
• Communicates medication needs or observed changes in utilization patterns to those in authority.
• Able to multitask in a busy environment
• Able to lift 25lbs and stand for long periods of time
• Possess good time management skills

Work Schedule:
