Senior Associate, Content Marketing Strategist

Capital One is seeking a talented Sr. Associate, Content Marketing Strategist to join its Awareness & Storytelling team, which is on an exciting journey to build a nationally recognized Bank brand. The team plans, develops and executes marketing strategies for new prospects as well as existing customers, whether they choose to interact in our local branches, Capital One Cafés or digitally.

This role makes a direct impact towards this goal.

The Sr. Associate, Content Marketing Strategist will work with our content creation teams to support showcasing the Café Experience across a variety of digital and social channels, with a particular emphasis on YouTube channel management and reporting. In addition to being versed in best practices when it comes to social media and video optimization, this person will also be a strong content creator who can produce impactful long form copy for Capital One owned channels and Social platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as identify and pitch stories to help drive premium storytelling.

Additionally, the Sr. Associate, Content Marketing Strategist will partner with key stakeholders to research and leverage trending topics across our Customer and Ambassador populations, helping develop meaningful storylines that bring more depth to our long-form content.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Help program long-form and short-form Café Social storytelling prod
  • Research subjects and find parallels within our editorial calendar with trending and relevant news topics
  • Manage internal production calendar and find alignment amongst stories through our Café Ambassadors and partner teams
  • Develop support copy and articles to compliment video and photography
  • Build internal buy-in by partnering with internal communication partners
  • Coordinate with external partners on the delivery of assets
  • Proofreading and quality control
  • Keep up to date on trends and report back research
  • Track and report on content created by competitors and throughout the financial industry


Ideal candidate will have the following skills:
  • Highly effective communication and storytelling skills, both written and verbal
  • Have a basic understanding of documentary video production in order to effectively communicate with partner teams and help out where necessary with coordination
  • Detail-orientated with strong project management and prioritization skills, managing multiple projects, stakeholders and deadlines effectively
  • Able to work autonomously and navigate ambiguity
  • Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to deal with high pressure situations and tight deadlines


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors' degree or Military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in digital journalism or content marketing
  • At least 3 years of YouTube channel management experience
  • At least 3 years of managing social media for a brand to include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • At least 1 year of SEO experience


Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of paid marketing is a plus
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment
