Duties

Summary

This position is located in the Department of Compact Operations (DCO) of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). DCO is responsible for developing and implementing MCC's compact programs.

Students may work full-time or part-time while school is in session, and full-time (depending on the needs of MCC) when on a vacation period or when school is closed.

Responsibilities

As a Pathways Intern, you will assist DCO staff with:
  • Developing and managing tracking and reporting tools to monitor progress of the portfolio.
  • Developing presentations, drafting remarks and talking points, and creating data visualization tools for meetings, events and travel.
  • Performing special projects in support of departmental and divisional priorities.
  • Preparing and tracking internal and external correspondence.
  • Providing research and analysis related to MCC and broader foreign assistance topics.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify for pay band 5 level applicants must meet the following:

Must have completed 4 academic years of post-high school study leading to a bachelor's or equivalent degree in International Development, International Relations, Public Policy or Administration, Public Health, Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, Foreign Affairs or closely related. NOTE: Your transcript showing that you meet this requirement must be included with your application.

You must be accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled and seeking a Master's or equivalent degree. You must be taking at least a half-time academic, vocational, or technical course load.

To qualify for pay band 5 level applicants must meet the following:

Good Academic Standing: Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA. (Note: if your school uses an alternate grading system, you must submit proof of the grading system with your application or your application will not be considered).

Desirable: Working knowledge or better of French in addition to English. Please include level of proficiency in your resume.

  • This is an excepted service appointment, not-to-exceed one (1) year, under the MCC Pathways Internship Program. After successful completion of the program requirements, at the discretion of MCC, the individual may be converted to a term or permanent appointment. An intern converted to a term appointment may be subsequently converted non-competitively into a permanent competitive service position before the term expires.
