Together, we serve and inspire to transform lives.This position professionally provides a consultative experience for both current and potential members calling into the Lending telephone queue and who apply for consumer loans online, building positive and lasting relationships. The Loan Officer conducts loan interviews over the phone, inputs information necessary to make a loan decision including obtaining disbursement instructions, and notifies members of the loan decision. In addition to these responsibilities, the Loan Officer owns the entire member experience from beginning to end and educates members about products and services that will benefit them and assist them in expanding their relationship with NWFCU. Responsibilities: Conduct loan interviews for consumer loans on the phone with applicants, educating and cross servicing our members about the loan products available at NWFCU. Also works loan applications submitted onlineReview information in the application and focus on the members ability to repay the loan, the willingness to repay the loan, the members existing assets and liabilitiesAnalyze the credit report and identified red flags, discrepancies and determine if collateral is sufficient. Request credit reports and compiles necessary information for loan approval or denialEnsure loan applications are complete and accurate.Determine collateral values using NADA for cars, trucks, RVs, motorcycles and boatsEffectively handle all internal requests for loan information, member callbacks, etc.Act as a liaison between the member and underwriter/processing teamsDecision consumer loans within delegated authority and lending guidelinesProvide appropriate disclosures.Appropriately explain denials and counter-offersPrepare consumer loan applications for underwritingEnsure additional documentation/information is obtained when required by Underwriter to complete the loan packageVerify quality and accuracy of loan documentsUtilize the credit reports obtained through member applications to profile for additional/needed services that NWFCU providesCross-sells all products and services offered by the credit union Ability to manage a heavy pipeline of loans.
