Responsibilities: The Underwriting Manager will manage the daily operations of a team of underwriters to ensure prompt processing and underwriting of applications and adherence to underwriting guidelines, criteria, and company philosophy to produce expected mortality results. Including but not limited to:Ensure team meets and/or exceeds productivity, quality and customer service expectations. Guide, mentor and coach underwriters; provide second signs. Conduct one on one with staff and creates and delivers performance reviews Participate in projects, collaborates effectively with stakeholders, and delivers results.Maintain positive relationships and demonstrate a high level of responsiveness with internal and external partners/customers.Support, utilize and advocate for new technologies. Qualifications: BS/BA Degree preferred or applicable experience with industry coursework (LOMA, CLU, FALU)15 years of extensive brokerage underwriting experience including heavy involvement with large case underwriting, financial underwriting, and handling of complex medical substandard cases.5 years supervisory/team leader experienceExcellent communication skills (oral and written) to interface with Company associates and external clients.PC knowledge to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.PC knowledge to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Process improvement experienceChange management experience preferred
