Assistant Professor - Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health Apply on-line at: =210000AL〈=en JOB SUMMARY: The Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health within the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting for Assistant Professor, non-tenure track. The candidate should have an interest in malaria, diarrheal diseases, respiratory diseases or other global infectious diseases research and have external funding to support their research activities. The faculty appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, non-tenure track, based on guidelines for faculty appointment at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. The applicant will be expected to obtain a primary appointment in the Department of Pediatrics or Department of Medicine. This is a full-time faculty position . The successful candidate will have experience conducting clinical, translational and/or epidemiological research, evidence of productivity as demonstrated by publication of completed projects and be interested in pursuing a career in scientific research. The Candidate will engage in collaborative research that draws upon the expertise of scientists from the Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health, the Department of Pediatrics, Medicine, Epidemiology and Public Health and the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, affiliated international sites, and other strategic partnerships. QUALIFICATIONS: MD or PhD degree or equivalent Completed post-doctoral training with a focus on infectious disease research Demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary and/or multi-cultural research setting Current research funding PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS: Subspecialty or post-doctoral training in infectious diseases epidemiology, or a strong interest in infectious diseases epidemiology A publication record in this or a related field Formal training in research for applicants with an MD degree (eg MPH, MHS, MSc) Experience conducting research studies low resource international settings.
