Responsibilities

You will serve as Chief Data Analytics Branch for the Financial Management Division, in the NPFC under the direction of the Cheif Financial Management Officer, responsible for providing day-to-day management and supervisory oversight of a professional, administrative, and technical staff.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
  • Providing expert direction of data and analytical strategies, processes for new approaches, new program emaphasis, and improved guidance.
  • Managing, overseeing and providing techanical direction of, operational planning, efforts, decisions in projects undertaken cooperative with othe USCG organizations, federal agencies and other NPEC customers.
  • Directing the daily work activities for a multi-disciplinary workforce made up of both civilian and military professionals assigned to the Data Analytics Branch.
  • Reviewing and approving or disapproving leave requests, furthering the goals of equal employment opportunity (EEO), and initiating nondiscriminatory practices and affirmative actions.
  • Developing reports, metrics, and internal controls supporting management.
  • Serving as principle advisor concerning overall plans and proposals for complex projects influencing the accomplishment of the Data Analytics strategic objectives.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicant must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13 or equivalent) in the Federal sector. For this position, specialized experience includes developing business case for new system initiatives including high level cost/benefit analyses, resource change proposals, and performance measurement plans; defining the financial management system goals, objectives, policies, and standards for financial management and mixed systems; reviewing existing financial management and mixed system; and reviewing the accuracy of data produced by the financial management and mixed systems and the reconciliation of data to subsystems.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
