Responsibilities
Inspects trees and shrubs for evidence of pest infestation, decayed wood, weak or dead
limbs, and removal of such items. Prunes to obtain a proper balance between roots and top
growth, and to maintain the natural form. Uses, and maintains, hand tools, zero turn mowers, walk behind mowers, weed eaters and blowers, leaf vacuum, tractors, skid steers with attachments, spray equipment, snow blowers and snowplows, chain saws, and pruning equipment. Mows large and small turf areas, weed eats, mulches planting beds, installs and maintains trees, shrubs, and flowers, and performs other grounds maintenance activities as assigned.
This position is identified as "emergency" for protection of personnel and property.

There is no specific length or level of experience requirements. The applicant's overall background of experience, education and training must clearly demonstrate the ability to perform the duties, as described in this announcement, without more than normal supervision (screen out).
Applicants must meet the screen out elements and achieve an overall score of at least fifty (50%) or higher
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.

However, the Office of Facilities and Property Management is currently under a maximum telework posture due to the COVID-19 pandemic; therefore, this position is currently under a 100 percent telework schedule. The position's telework schedule will likely change in the future when the Office of Facilities and Property Management moves away from its maximum telework posture. At that time, the incumbent will be expected to report to the physical work site in accordance with the updated status requirements of their supervisor. The nature and scope of future telework opportunities will be subject to the unit's telework policy, any applicable bargaining unit agreements, and supervisory approval. Payment of relocation expenses, as applicable, will be paid in accordance with this Job Opportunity Announcement. Non-compliance with the supervisor's telework-schedule requirement could result in adverse action, including separation.
