The Heart Institute Information System Admin job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
•Providing system maintenance support and system management for a variety of software and hardware platforms for Heart Institute.
•Supporting Windows server and desktop clinical systems
•Planning and implementing necessary hardware and software upgrades
•Providing precise, detailed documentation regarding the various systems
•Managing a variety of specialized and diagnostics clinical systems in hospital environment

Qualifications

Minimum Education
B.S. Computer Science, Information Technology or highly experienced in Healthcare clinical systems (Required)

Minimum Work Experience
2 years Hands-on systems administrator experience with Windows servers and Windows workstations on network environment applications (Required) And
0 years Prior experience in the healthcare industry and work with healthcare applications and systems (Preferred)

Required Skills/Knowledge
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Must provide exceptional customer service and responsiveness to end-user when resolving issues

Required Licenses and Certifications
Microsoft Certification (e.g. MCSE, ...) (Preferred) And
Network Certification (e.g. Cisco CCNA,.) (Preferred) Or
Healthcare clinical applications (i.e. GE, Philips, Cerner, Siemens, PACS and imaging system) (Preferred)

Functional Accountabilities
System Management
  • Provide administration for multiple clinical applications to ensure systems accessibility, performance and functionality
  • Perform clinical application software installation and upgrades
  • Maintain clinical application systems and servers
  • Provide and maintain users accounts management
System Integration/ Implementation
  • Integrate hardware and operating systems software into hospital environment
  • Implement client/server solutions to support various applications
  • Participate in planning and testing for ancillary software (PACS, HIS, clinical software, etc.) application upgrades (partners with the Bear Institute or other interdisciplinary teams)
Technical Proficiency
  • • Must have technical communication skills and understanding of clinical workflow, applications, and standard network protocols
  • Knowledge of system hardware installation, monitoring systems performance, network diagnosis and work with IT administrator team and vendors
  • Capable of devising ways to accomplish a difficult task and the ability to recognize a problem and construct an effective solution compatible with overall hospital policies
  • Capable of excellent team work both within hospital and outside members (i.e. vendors) to resolve tasks
  • Understanding and knowledge of SQL database and the ability to provide reports from different systems
  • Pursue industry standard technical certifications
IT Best Practices
  • Work closely with hospital IT administrators to resolve any clinical systems issues as needed
  • Accurately troubleshoot and resolve issues with clinical systems (hardware, software, interface) to minimize impact on clinic
  • Flexible working hours during major systems installations, upgrade and resolving critical issues
  • Display sense of urgency and responsiveness to end-user customers when resolving issues
