Job Purpose: The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the overall Corporate finance department. This position will have some day to day accounting responsibilities but will primarily focus on land asset analysis and oversight including lot purchases and land development budgets and commitments. This hands-on position will work directly with the Division and Corporate Finance Leaders in supporting the financial and operational management needs of the Company. Duties and Responsibilities: * Attend Division Land Development budget review meetings. * Develop land development inventory review and commitment process in NewStar. * Maintain and analyze land development reconciliation and cost allocations. * Schedule, track, and monitor lot purchases including price escalators. * Reconcile and track outstanding Letters of Credit and development bonds. * Setup new communities and lots in NewStar. * Involvement in the development of a forecast tool for asset tracking & projections. * Assist Division Finance with preparation of financial reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections. * Assist Corporate Finance in analyzing various facets of company's financials. * Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills * Ability to provide accurate, consistent work on a timely basis. * Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills * A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles * Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with expertise in Excel. E ducation and Work Experience * BS/MA degree in Finance or Accounting * Professional qualification such as CFA/CPA or similar is considered a plus. * 3 - 5 years' experience in Finance/Accounting roles. * Homebuilding, real estate, or land development experience is considered a plus.
