Arc XP is hiring for a talented senior backend engineer who is experienced at working with clients to guide backend integration processes.

The ideal candidate has a passion for customer success and is excited about the opportunity to improve and stabilize the existing code base as well as design innovative solutions to meet the unique needs of our customers.

The senior backend software engineer is part of our Professional Services organization and will work closely with project teams within Professional Services as well as Account Management, Platform Engineering and Product Management organizations.

**This position could be 100% remote in the US for the right candidate**

Responsibilities
  • Implement backend integrations with the Arc stack
  • Work with internal and external data sources and APIs
  • Work directly with client engineering teams to guide development on Arc's best practices, troubleshoot issues, review code and provide feedback during the onboarding phase.
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
  • Work on bug fixing and improving system performance and reliability
  • Document solutions on a shared knowledge base.
  • Own and independently manage high priority issues.
  • Contribute to code development on Professional Services projects to stay abreast of new capabilities within the Arc suite.
  • Continually learn and expand your knowledge of Arc's products and services.
  • Collaborate with account management, platform engineering, and product management to share product feedback on the client experience.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related experience
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • 2+ years in a customer facing technical support engineering role or related experience
  • Proven backend development as a producer and consumer of web service APIs
  • Strong understanding of common integration patterns
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing services, preferably with AWS
  • Proficiency in coding with Python, Java, Javascript, Scala of another modern programming language
  • Strong Devops experience, preferably with AWS
  • Experience working with multiple common data formats (JSON, XML, CSV)
  • Experience working with multiple common web service architectures (REST, SOAP, RPC)
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Working knowledge of the backend integration landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
  • Solid understanding of version control principles.
  • Solid understanding of the agile software development methodologies
  • Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Experience working on enterprise level, large scale distributed systems.
  • Experience building ETL services.
  • Experience working with message queueing services.
