Responsibilities

• Develop Army learning content for multiple mobile device platforms.
• Interact with other personnel within Army University, Combined Arms Center, and other Centers of Excellence to improve the availability of enterprise level services designed to share data with a wide variety of mobile platforms and applications.
• Participate in the development of mobile standards and specifications based on emerging functional requirements, technology, and standards.
• Provide in-depth knowledge of at least one programming language like Swift and Java in the performance of assigned duties.
• Use web-based synchronous audio/video conferencing to distribute work products and conduct staffing functions.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute the oversight process for the hosting, quality development, synchronization, reutilization, and maintenance of products and content within the Directorate, Distributed Learning, Mobile Division (MobDiv).
• Review the activities of contractor computer specialists engaged in the analysis, design, development, and testing of mobile-delivered courseware for content standardization, playability and external reference integration.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Basic Requirement for Computer Scientist:

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in computer science or bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work such as: 1) conducting integration investigations, reviews and comparisons to maintain the standards of quality required for digital delivery of mobile content and mobile applications; 2) developing computer software systems and programs for prototype and proof-of-principle applications to support the research area such as input/output, database content, and data element definition and/or manipulation; AND 3) overseeing team efforts and products to ensure conformance with research requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
