Job Summary Provides therapeutic care including assessment, planning, and implementation of treatment for patient care. Minimum Qualifications Education/Training License to practice Physical Therapy in the State of Maryland. Experience 1 year experience preferred. License/Certification/Registration License to practice Physical Therapy in the State of Maryland. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Advances professional knowledge to ensure quality patient care and program excellence. Enhances growth and development and enriches personal knowledge and skill through participation in educational programs and affiliations. Assists with orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, and volunteers. Supervises students, volunteers, assistants, and technicians as requested. Completes or works towards completion of annual goal(s). Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations. Documents in compliance with professional, agency, and payor requirements. Evaluates patients within a wide variety of settings, targets critical issues, and establishes a baseline and a plan of treatment that facilitates improvements in patient outcomes. Identifies limitations of patient, incorporates appropriate assessment tools and procedures, establishes measurable long- and short-term goals, and determines how specific problems interfere with function. Incorporates patient and care giver participation in treatment, goals, and discharge planning. Develops and implements discharge planning needs early by initiating patient and care giver participation as well as equipment procurement. Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams. Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts. Performs other duties as assigned. Revises treatment as necessary for optimal patient improvement.
