Program Manager

The George Mason University Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Building a Culture of Active Learning through Course-Based Communities of Transformation project team invites applications for the position of Program Manager. About the Position: Working 10 to 20 hours per week, the primary role of the Program Manager is to manage the communications and assist with program management for this NSF-funded research and organizational change project. This is a project that is working to transform the teaching methods used in large gateway courses in the math, physics, and computer science departments.

Responsibilities:
Program Management: * Supports and assists the research team; * Assists with the coordination of all aspects of program operations and logistics including maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders (team members, research participants, learning communities, internal and external advisory boards, etc.); * Assists with the compilation and creation of participant records such as consent forms, meeting notes; * Manages and coordinates the logistics for meetings, workshops, and other events as assigned; * Sets up and assists team members with virtual or in-person (when they resume) meetings; * Other duties as assigned.

Communications: * Maintains website and other repository sites for team leaders; * Participates in writing project summaries and an annual report for a variety of audiences and develops literature for public dissemination and promotion of the program.

Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in office management, administration, or events management; * Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of all applications in Microsoft Office, electronic calendaring, e-mail, learning management systems, and virtual platforms; * Ability to work with a variety of constituents (faculty, students, administrators); * Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills; * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; * Ability to work both independently, and within a team.

Preferred Qualifications: * Knowledge of Mason programs, policies, and procedures; * Experience working in an academic environment.
