The George Mason University Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning invites highly qualified candidates to apply for the position of Research Analyst. About the Position: The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning (OIEP) is seeking a Research Analyst to fulfill its mission of engaging key stakeholders with analyses needed to make data-informed strategic, operational, and tactical decisions. The Research Analyst, who will report to the Assistant Provost for Institutional Research, is expected to perform complex analyses, forecasting, and modeling utilizing data from multiple internal as well as external sources. In addition to extracting data and managing data files, the research analyst will support strategic initiatives and play a critical role in responding to and completing multiple surveys.

Responsibilities: * Maintain standardized practices for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reports that are created and disseminated; * Develop familiarity with multiple functional areas; * Organize census data to comply with established institutional research standards and protocols; * Develop and maintain system to efficiently and reliably complete multiple national and international surveys, including several key college ranking collections; * Collect rankings and work with team on modeling to predict Mason's relative rank position; * Analytical studies to support success of Mason's Tech Talent initiatives; * Support Mason's online initiatives; * Work on transfer pipeline, ex. ADVANCE, and other access and inclusive excellence initiatives; * Design data visualizations and dashboard development to displace results of strategic initiatives; * Support strategic resource modeling and forecasting; * Keep abreast of industry developments and trends.

Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a field such as Business Administration, Public Policy, Psychology, Statistics, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; * Experience in using SAS, SPSS, or other comparable statistical analysis program for complex analysis and decision support; * Programming knowledge of SAS (preferred) or SPSS; * Strong knowledge of applied statistical analysis, such as t-test, f-test, and other advanced multivariate statistical techniques and research design methodologies; * Ability to work with data from multiple internal and external sources; * Working knowledge of ERP such as Banner, PeopleSoft, SAP; * Knowledge of business intelligence and analytics tools such as Microstrategy, Tableau, SAS analytics/miner, SAS Viya; * Ability to work independently; * Strong critical thinking skills and ability to convey complex ideas to multiple audiences; * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; * Demonstrated experience (at least two years preferred) in an institutional research related area.

Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree; * Full-time professional experience of at least five years; * SAS certification; * Experience with data visualization.
