The George Mason University Office of Graduate Admissions and Enrollment Services, within the Volgenau School of Engineering (VSE), seeks a motivated, critical thinker with outstanding communication and organizational skills. About the Position: This position will work independently and collaboratively with Graduate Academic Affairs and with VSE departments and university-wide constituents. The Coordinator will report to the Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment.

Responsibilities: The Graduate Communications Coordinator position involves responsibility for the creation and roll out of marketing materials for graduate programs in the Volgenau School of Engineering. The Graduate Communications Coordinator is expected to perform duties across graduate recruitment efforts to include, but not limited to, working directly with prospective students, participating in recruitment events, and assisting with administrative tasks to include phone calls, emails and walk-ins.

Communications Management * Oversee and manage the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool to develop detailed communication plans; * Develop written content, integrate videos, and work with various communications and marketing projects, both within teams and independently; * Set up filters, reports, and campaigns to effectively communicate with prospective students at each stage of the admission lifecycle; * Coordinate with program directors and departmental constituents regarding communication plans, prospective students and reports; * Track communication statistics and broadcasts through the CRM.

Website Content/Event Campaigns * Write and update web content for the VSE Graduate Admissions webpages, including but not limited to, using pictures and videos to help drive prospective students to the website; * Use Google Analytics to track web traffic; * Write content for and build event campaigns.

Social Media * Utilize social media platforms to market and attract prospective students to take-action and; in collaboration with the Office of Graduate Academic Affairs, promote graduate student engagement; * Create and implement paid and unpaid marketing ads and campaigns on a variety of social media platforms; * Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in communications and/or marketing; * Higher Education admissions experience; * Outstanding communication skills; * Demonstrated experience writing and developing creative and compelling marketing content; * Highly organized with great attention to detail; * Ability to work independently and in teams; * Ability to take initiative and complete projects and/or assignments with minimal supervision; * Strong analytical skills with proven, effective application of those ideas into procedures; * Willingness to assist with recruitment activities outside of normal business hours and occasional weekends; * Demonstrated customer service experience; * Ability to manage competing priorities effectively; * Flexibility and willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours, remotely, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrated experience in creating and editing web content; * Demonstrated experience in creating and editing event campaigns; * Experience with Salesforce/TargetX or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems; * Above average experience with social media; * Experience with paid social media advertising.
