Responsibilities

As a Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:
  • Lead Incident investigations, data forensics, malware and advanced persistent threat investigations, and communicate incident information to senior management.
  • Manage security monitoring capabilities providing proactive data analytics with a specific focus and emphasis on information security and cyber security events and activities.
  • Manage information security/cyber security threat intelligence and situational awareness activities to provide early warning and proactive defense countermeasures.
  • Lead information security vulnerability management, information security/cyber security continuous monitoring activities, and report on the cyber security state of the enterprise.
  • Direct the cyber security penetration test capability and collaborate on the remediation of cyber security weaknesses identified during the test engagements.
  • Lead information system and data related logical access management activities including policy and procedure development.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a staff of cyber and technical professionals. Provide senior level advice and counsel on work and administrative matters.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement:

Required Competencies: Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

-Attention to Detail- Generally demonstrated by tasks where the applicant is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
-Customer Service - Generally demonstrated by tasks where the applicant works with customers to assess their needs, provide information, resolve their problems, knows about available services; and is committed to providing quality products and services.
-Oral Communication -Generally demonstrated by tasks where the applicant expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, considers the audience and nature of the information; makes convincing oral presentations; listens, and responds appropriately.
-Problem Solving - Generally demonstrated by tasks where the applicant identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; and uses sound judgment to evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations.

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
  • Providing oversight, leading or coordinating activities associated with information security in the areas of security monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence, enterprise continuous monitoring and access management. AND
  • Leading a team of information security professionals providing security monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence, enterprise continuous monitoring and/or access management.

Certified Information Systems Security Professional highly desired.

The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.   • Salary range includes 22.26% geographical pay.
