Position: Portfolio Management AssociateLocation: Bethesda, MD Business Overview:Founded in 2021, Glassy Mountain Advisors is a startup wealth management firm providing investment management and financial planning services to individuals, families, trusts, non-profit organizations, and foundations. Located in Bethesda, MD, the firm expects to have substantial assets under management upon launch in late June 2021 and intends to increase the number of clients served and assets under management significantly in coming years. We are seeking talented and motivated people interested in helping us grow our firm. Position Summary:The Portfolio Management Associate will provide support with investment research, trading, portfolio management, financial planning, and client communication. Career path includes advancement to portfolio and/or relationship management position. Duties:Research new and existing investment opportunitiesExecute trades in client accountsAssist in management of client portfolios by: -Selecting securities to sell to raise cash for client use -Investing cash balances in recommended equity and income securities -Rebalancing portfolios for specific situationsEnter data into financial planning systemParticipate in meetings and other communications with clients and assist with client service issuesProvide support for business development activitiesHelp onboard new clientsComplete special projects and research as needed Required Skills and Experience:2+ years of work experience in financial services preferred, but not requiredBachelor's degree requiredCFA or CFP designation or desire to attain either designationExcellent attitude and extraordinary client service orientationOutstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsProven organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated quantitative skills and attention to detailProficiency with Microsoft Office Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications
