Sr. Manager, Rent Accounting

Interfaces with Operations Controllers to ensure the accuracy of the financial books and with Business Development and Legal to ensure compliance with contractual rent terms. This position is assessed with identifying and reducing potential balance sheet risk and exposure and is responsible for maintaining, developing and implementing accounting processes to ensure the integrity of financial data. Essential Functions:Serves as the primary technical accounting resource for all lease related matters.Serves as the company's expert on accounting pronouncements IFRS 16 and ASC 842.Leads lease reporting activities through technological savviness with extrapolating and interpreting data, and effectively informing the company Ensures the accuracy and integrity of the PeopleSoft Lease Administration (PSLA) software module and coordinates system updates with IT Group.Responsible for accurately and timely creating and amending leases on PSLA, and validating the accuracy and integrity of the sales mapping tables.Key contributor in the period closing process for the rent accounting area.Leads the preparation and review of rent expense budgets and forecasts for the company.Analyzes all rent expense accounts each period and reconciles balance sheet accounts to reduce risk and minimize exposure.Ensures the accuracy of the straight-line rent tables in PSLA and reconciles balances to general ledger on a periodic basis.Interfaces with Asset Management and External Reporting to ensure the accuracy of the IFRS conversion module when replacing USGAAP Lease Costs with Depreciation and Interest during the period close. Reporting relationship and other important information:This position requires interaction on a regular basis with Corporate Accounting and Systems personnel as well as field finance, branch leadership, and the Business Development and Legal teams. This is an exempt position and reports to the Sr. Director of Accounting.
