Our client, a large government contractor located in the Dulles corridor, is in need of an interim controller for at least the next 2 months to assist with duties as they go through a merger. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a controller level position for a large government contractor, will have a BS in Accounting (or other related business degree), will know government contract accounting completely and will have the ability to close books in a gov con environment.Primary Responsibilities Manage and maintain the general ledger and fixed assets of the organization Analyze bad debt, account reconciliations and accruals Prepare monthly reporting and financial statements Establishes monthly and year-end closing schedules Maintains bank relationships and handles all bank statement recs Qualifications Degree in Accounting (or related field) 7+ years' related experience (management and US Government Contracting) Expert in Costpoint Expert in Excel Ability to obtain a government clearance Available immediately
