Job DescriptionFront line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to Quality and Best Practices to improve clinical operation of the unit; embraces, uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unit-based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes. Reports to Director. Role model who leads by example in delivering Service Always and in making Patient Experience a priority on unit(s) of responsibliity. Seeks every opportunity to meet the unique needs of each person we are privileged to serve-every time, every touch. Ensures that care is patient-centered. Continually pursues activities that will ensure smooth clinical operations/flow and compliance with Inova's goals of providing safe, equitable, patient-centered, timely, efficient and effective care in a holistic and evidence-based practice environment. Values and promotes collegial working relationships within and among disciplines. Inova is well stocked with the best and latest PPE Strict PPE requirements for all staff and visitors All team members are trained in the latest screening guidelines Masks are provided to patients entering our buildings, and offered free to visitors New safety wayfinding and social distancing signage is installed everywhere Waiting rooms and registration areas are arranged for social distancing We deep-clean our facilities nightly; we wipe surfaces and sanitize throughout the day Hand sanitizer is available everywhere at all times All team members are required to practice frequent hand washing Patients with symptoms are immediately directed to separate exam rooms Covid-19 patients are isolated in dedicated areas Inova operates drive-through Covid-19 testing sites that are far removed from the main facilitiesRequirementsRecent Acute Care experience and/or nursing practice experienceAt least one year of Registered Nurse Clinical experienceMore than 2 years of Registered Nurse Clinical Experience specific to the focus of nursing unit preferredEducationGraduate from an accredited school of nursingAssociate Degree RNs within one year of completing their BSNBSN or MSNCompletion of revised Charge Nurse Workshop within the first 90 daysIHVIPrevious leadership coursesBLS required. Specialty certification (as required by unit) within 1 year of hireCertification in the specialty area of nursing practiceRN licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of VirginiaLicensed to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of VirginiaExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits leadership ability that fosters teamwork and retention. Demonstrates professionalism and ability to remain calm and lead in dynamic and busy situations. Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office and healthcare software required.
