Position: Director of Content MarketingDepartment: Marketing Location: Remote - Rockville Do you geek out on SEO and love content based marketing? Would you consider yourself a LEADER of LEADERS? You will architect and lead the entire content marketing strategy of the company. Here are all the content departments you will need to strategize, build, lead and grow:SEO & Content MarketingContent NewsletterSocial Media (all channels)Podcast Brand Marketing (all public review sites)You'll be instantly designing and hiring leaders for each of these content departments above that you will oversee.Our company is growing incredibly fast and has a specialization in paid media. Even though we have large social followings and great domain authority, we just have not put any emphasis on organic content marketing. That changes now, hopefully with your leadership.This is a key position to make a substantial impact on revenue and brand in 2021 and beyond. We have partnerships with major Entrepreneur celebrities such as Daymond John (Shark Tank), Robert Kiyosaki, Bob Proctor, James Altucher and many more.In 2020, our business has grown 150%. We've more than doubled our team size. Right now, we're focused on getting the right leadership in place for the next burst of growth in 2021, which is estimated to be another 100% as we have already passed our tipping point.The platform already has 500,000 members and is rapidly growing to 10 million. Our Email list is over 1.2 Million subscribers and our advertising budget is about to cross $1 Million a month. Now, it's time to really add momentum by also mastering our content marketing game.The only reason Lurn is growing the way we are is because of our amazing team. And now, we're looking for that "special someone" to build and lead the Publishing team.That's where you come in, maybe - let's see.Here's What We ARE Looking For The following is pretty direct and non-negotiable. Our Director of Coaching requires these:Leadership - Hiring & Leading Other Managers (Must Have) This is an absolute must in this position. You need to have hired and built multiple teams. Considering that you will oversee many divisions of content marketing, we expect you to hire great leaders, delegate to them and lead their growth. You will be ultimately accountable for the KPIs and goals of growing our organic marketing. Innovating & Designing New Systems & Processes Given just how much content we have, how many different channels of content marketing we have - systems and processes are key. You'll be expected to architect these systems, implement them, optimize and track their success. Planner - Getting Team at Least 4 Weeks Ahead Given the breath and rapid pace of content that we will be publishing across so many channels, a key goal will be to get ahead. You are responsible for building a team that runs very smoothly and is always ahead of deadlines. SEO Master This is the one skill you must have (in addition to leadership). Social media expertise you can hire, podcast production you can hire, however, SEO has to be your domain. You will not only begin content publishing for search engine rankings. You will also consult our engineering team as we build our "user generated content" strategy for the platform. Our goal is to make a highly optimized domain with thousands of ranking keywords. Content Research The key to content marketing is creating the right calendars, choosing the best topics and tracking the market interest. You will be required to lead this process. We want to know how to research and determine topics, what tools you use and what KPIs you work from. Data Driven Decision Making In this company, our entire team is data driven. We do not make any decisions that are not supported with data. Even though content marketing can be a subjective or longer process, we will still want data to be tracked daily. What metrics do you track? How do you use those metrics to make decisions?Listen, we're growing incredibly fast. Our marketing team right now is very small compared to the immense potential we have. Whoever fills this Director of Content Marketing position is going to be CENTRAL in our ability to grow and achieve 100% revenue growth in 2021.Of course with all this growth comes amazing growth opportunities for you as well. So, in the end, that kind of intensity and potential needs to excite you, we understand that this kind of pace isn't ideal for everyone and that's okay.Alright, So, How Do You Become a Super Star In This Position?You do the following in your first 120 days and we'll hoist you on our shoulders and parade you around Work with engineering to optimize our Platform pages for SEO (public site) and also our user generated content strategy - full plan and execution. Put all tracking and data systems in to track our content marketing traffic and conversions (set the base so we can start growing it).Architect, strategize and launch a central daily Lurn Email Newsletter Hire the leadership to manage our social media growth. Implement the process to grow and monetize our social media (YouTube, Facebook, Linkedin and other new channels as determined). Triple the pace at which our YouTube audience is growing (10,000 new subscribers a month). Lead a redesign, re-architecting of our Lurn Blog and launch it. You do the above and you're going to have HERO status at Lurn.In Summary - This Is Who You Need To Be:Have worked at a start-up previously.Have built many teams from the ground up and led them to great growth. Tremendous experience implementing KPIs and metrics for content marketing tracking.Strong up-to-date understanding and knowledge of SEO.Proof of having grown the traffic of a company using content marketing.Strong experience with building systems, tracking them and optimizing. Experience hiring other leaders for your department. Strong self-starter problem solver. You need to be deductive and comfortable in finding your own answers and implementing. Incredibly organized, detail-oriented and ambitious.Driven by improving quality - You need to be borderline obsessed with making something you create better, month over month.
