Inova Health System has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Accounting. This will be a hybrid(partially remote) role, based in Fairfax, VA.This position will be a combination of traditional accounting/reporting functions, operational finance, and financial management. This role will be involved with helping to "run a business" versus a pure back-end accounting role.The primary responsibility of this position is comprehensive leadership over the accounting and financial reporting functions within Physician Services. This includes two main legal entities and hundreds of cost centers and clinic-level income statements. The role is challenging, dynamic, and more important than ever as we transition to cloud-based Oracle ERP. The Director of Accounting will also have lead responsibility for properly accounting for acquisitions and partnerships, with which we have historically been quite active. The role also involves a high degree of interaction with our corporate accounting and finance teams, including heavy involvement and coordination during the month-end close activities. There will be close partnership with operations and service line leadership, including executive-level report outs. Directs the operation of the corporate Treasury functions. Leads and coordinates key strategic development and functional services to support department objectives and organizational goals. Directs the operation of the corporate Financial Risk Management functions. Manages professional and clerical staff, including day-to-day supervision, employee relations, and staff development. Maintains effective and responsive relationships with third party service providers supporting Inova Treasury and Risk Management functions, and relationships with other departmental management and executive leadership. Minimum Required-Experience in supervising/ managing/leading within a department or functional area. -7 years related professional experience, with 4 years public accounting experience.Healthcare experience preferred-CPA
