Dewberry is currently seeking a Contracts Director to lead, manage, and enhance the company's Contracts Program. Responsibilities

Contract Management and Government Contracts Compliance:
  • Supervision of Dewberry team responsible for corporate contract management and government contracts compliance functions.
  • Provide guidance on ethics and compliance requirements related to approach and execution of Dewberry contracts.
  • Primary point of contact for the executive leadership on matters relating to contracts and contract compliance.
  • Participate in Government and third party reviews, audits, investigations, and inquiries. Coordinate appropriate responses with internal and/or external counsel.
  • Develop, coordinate, and participate in training related to all facets of contract compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop and refine policies, procedures, and processes to facilitate consistent, risk-based approach to contract management and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Attend external training and actively participate in industry related organizations to facilitate Dewberry's awareness of - and preparation for - current trends/issues associated with contracts.
  • Represent contract process and compliance at the corporate compliance executive committee.


Required Skills & Required Experience

Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of the law, Federal Acquisition Regulations, ethics and compliance issues surrounding Government and/or commercial contracting relevant to Dewberry's business.
  • Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards, cost allowability rules, and Truth in Negotiations Act and unique GSA schedule obligations.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, focus on researching relevant information, provide an accurate assessment or conclusion based on researched information.
  • Knowledge of industry issues and resolution of issues as related to ethics and compliance in Government and commercial contracting.
  • Knowledgeable of business operations similar to Dewberry (professional services), in terms of types of work, nature of contracts, culture, and geographic dispersion.
  • Ability to meet short term needs while attending to long term business issues and needs.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external counsel to effectively identify and address ethics and compliance related issues.
  • Law degree and at least fifteen years of experience in related field required.

  • Ability to assert self to managers and executive leadership, with level of preparation necessary to support actions.
