Product Ops /Project Manager - Capital One Spring

As a Product Operations ("Product Ops") Manager at Capital One, you will join a Product Management team and help enable that entire team by executing key product-related projects and improving all related processes. You will work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, and their key stakeholders, helping to deliver results that will have a direct impact on the performance of one of Capital One Spring.

In this position, you will contribute immediately, bridging the gap between the Product function and critical Project and Process Management needs. You will be challenged to excel and lead and have an opportunity to get hands-on with the Product Management function for Capital One Spring.

We are seeking candidates with Product Management experience who wish to explore the process and project side of the product function; or alternatively, candidates with Process or Project Management experience who are interested in applying their skills to the product function. All candidates should have experience with and be familiar with the tenets of Agile development, having also worked to scale Agile within a framework like Scaled Agile (SAFe) or Scrum of Scrums (SoS).

  • Product Processes & Best Practices: Assist, facilitate, and enable Product Managers and Owners, in defining and documenting ongoing product processes and product team best practices.
  • Product QA & Issue Escalation: Work and collaborate with Product Owners to understand feature intent for various releases, assist in release testing, and routinely monitor website and platform performance, escalating discovered issues to the appropriate stakeholders for resolution.
  • Product Training Oversight: Enable ongoing product skills development by identifying and procuring the right learning and training options for the entire Product Team.
  • Tools: Administration of the digital tools used by the Product Team, including help with tool selection, setup, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Prioritization: Help product team organize, document, update, and maintain prioritization decisions used for Product Backlogs and Roadmaps.
  • Cross-Team Communication & Collaboration Processes: Manage and standardize the stakeholder communication and collaboration processes, channels, and tools, to be used by the Product Team for product launches, announcements, releases, changes, intake requests, etc.
  • Compliance Processes and Projects: Act as the product team's key lead on compliance issues, for both external regulations and interal processes. Execute and facilitate all required compliance-related activities while monitoring backlogs to ensure sufficient lead-times for related software development.
  • Analysis: Support and assist the Product Management team on a case-by-case basis as needed for Analysis projects, in collaboration with Data Science and Market Research teams.
  • PI Planning and Facilitation: Plan, enable, and facilitate our PI (Program Increment) Planning process within the context of the Scaled Agile (SAFe) framework.

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 4 years of Project Management, Process Management, or Product Management Experience.
  • At least 3 year experience working within Agile (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc)
  • At least 3 year experience scaling Agile with a framework like SAFe or SoS.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 6 years experience in Project, Process or Product Management.
  • At least 5 years experience working within Agile (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc)
  • At least 5 years experience scaling Agile with a framework like SAFe or SoS.
  • PMP, Six Sigma, SAFe, or Advanced Scrum certification.
