We value joy and celebration, and we strive to provide professional excellence to all those we serve.The NeedAfter two decades of continued growth and operational success in pioneering the work of protecting those who are experiencing poverty from violence, IJM has developed a sizable global grants portfolio from a diverse array of government, corporate, and foundation donors. As we continue this trajectory of growth, IJM is seeking a collaborative Grants Finance expert to oversee a variety of global work streams aimed at strengthening IJMs financial management capacity for grants portfolio wide.This role is responsible for developing, communicating, and training staff on sound financial management practices throughout the grant lifecycle, starting with the cost proposal process and ending with responsible grant closeout. With deep expertise in grant budget development and management techniques for a variety of donors, the Grants Finance Specialist contributes heavily to internal capacity building initiatives; serves as the primary liaison between Global Grants and Global Finance divisions; maintains subject matter expertise in IJMs financial systems; and compiles and analyzes data for grant revenue forecasts for leadership.This position is based at IJM Headquarters in the Washington, DC area and reports to the Global Director, Grant Partnerships.ResponsibilitiesCost Proposal DevelopmentReview grant solicitations and develop budget templates and guidance in line with donor requirements, best practices and internal requirements;Oversee the cost proposal development process, collaborating with the Regional teams to ensure budgets and budget narratives are completely timely and accurately;Provide coaching and feedback to Regional/Field teams throughout the budgeting process; andReview draft budgets submitted by Regional teams and partners and provide final sign-off on cost proposal package before sending to Controller for approval.Capacity BuildingFacilitate virtual and in-person training sessions for global staff on topics related to grant budgeting, financial management and donor rules and regulations;Contribute to ongoing revisions and improvements to IJMs Grant Management policies and procedures, standards, best practices, resources and training materials as requested by the Global Director, Grants Management and/or Grants Compliance Manager;Develop subject matter expertise in Workday Awards module by enrolling in external trainings and actively engaging in Workday Community and with other end users;Develop training materials and job aids for IJM users based on changing system requirements and functionality for Workday Awards module; andUp to six international trips per year may be required to conduct training of field staff and/or participate in proposal design workshops.Grant Financial Management and Analysis Provide coaching and technical assistance to Finance teams with regards to donor reporting requirements and best practices;Work with the Global Director, Grants Management, Director of International Finance, and the AMOS team to develop custom reports, research and launch new Awards functionality, and troubleshoot problems in Workday Awards system;Engage with consultants as needed to optimize and configure Workday Awards module;Ensure IJM's Grant Management Dashboard and Tracker are maintained and distributed to relevant stakeholders. Ensure Grant Dashboard and Tracker are continually improved through the use of BI technology; andProvide financial analysis on IJMs grant portfolio and KPIs as requested by the Global Director, Grants Management, Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis or Chief Financial Officer as requested.Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting required; graduate degree in business administration and/or CPA strongly preferred;Minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience required;Minimum of 3 years experience with grant financial management;Strong experience with successfully leading cost proposal processes with the US Government required; andExperience in financial management of foreign government, foundation and international/multilateral funding strongly preferred.Critical Qualities:Mature orthodox Christian faith as defined by the Apostles Creed;Self-starter with strong initiative;Disciplined with priorities;Strong interpersonal skills and self-awareness;Exceptional verbal and written communication;Flexible, collaborative and eager to support others;Effective team player who fosters collaborative environment; andAdept at creative problem solving.What does IJM have to offer?Comprehensive Medical/Dental/Vision benefitsMonthly commuter and parking benefitsGenerous 6% retirement contributionPaid leave starting at 23 days11 holidays (plus early release the day prior)Relocation reimbursementDaily, quarterly and annual community spiritual formationRobust staff care resources
